Favorite faculty that I remember…
I will never forget Doc Walters. He could always make us think, laugh and learn at the same time. I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention Mr. Bryant. If it weren’t for him being my advisor, coach and friend, I don’t think I would have had the same experience as I had at BB&N. There were many other faculty members who had a lasting impression on me in one way or another, including Mr. Tower, Mr. O’Brien, Mr. Stonestreet, Mr. Leith, Mr. Farber, Mr. Deveney, Mr. Quain, Mr. Norton, and I can’t forget Mr. Etter on the athletic side of things. We had a great group of faculty who I probably didn’t appreciate as much at the time, but I’m glad we had all of them. I’m excited to see any and all faculty who show up at Strawberry Night in June!

Memories of school and the 80’s…
There are too many memories to list (and many that I can’t and won’t repeat), but here’s one from school…the Green Room Crew (you know who you are). Many of them are still close friends of mine today. We spent many hours discussing politics and religion in that corner of the school (just kidding, but we did have many other “discussions” and a lot of laughs!). I’ll also remember the 80’s in general as a very interesting time. We listened to Van Halen, Aerosmith, The Police, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi (among others) on cassette and the newly invented Compact Disk. We watched Cheers on TV and saw Die Hard and Lethal Weapon as well as all The Karate Kid and Back to the Future movies. You could also walk into a video store and have a choice of either Betamax or VHS formats. It was a very diverse and fascinating era that helped to create many fond memories.

What I’ve done since BB&N…
I went on to get my undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston. I also completed my MBA at Northeastern in 2006. I’ve been primarily in marketing and sales throughout my career in several industries, including Non-Profit, Healthcare, Sports Management, Technology and most recently Legal Services. I’m currently a Senior Product Manager for Thomson Corporation where I am responsible for a line of legal research products for corporations such as MTV, Disney and Sony. My wife Amy and I were married on May 25, 2003 and we had our first son, Samuel, on September 10th of ’06.

How BB&N has shaped your career, life, etc…
BB&N helped me prepare for college in that it taught me great study habits and time management skills. However, the greatest thing BB&N gave me was a close knit group of friends that I continue to see and talk with on a regular basis. I’ve heard that people say their college friends are the ones you will have for the rest of your life, but my BB&N friends are the best group of people and I couldn’t imagine what BB&N and my life since BB&N would have been like without them. I’ve also found the BB&N community to have a strong sense of family. The connections that I’ve made through other alumni/ae, both in my class and others, have been tremendous. I’ve been able to do and see things professionally and personally that wouldn’t be possible had I not been part of the BB&N community. For a while I didn’t like my time at BB&N, because it was tough and we had teachers and administrators on us constantly, but the further I get away from the school in years, the more I appreciate the faculty, the people I met there and the lasting relationships I was able to create.

My connection with BB&N…
I never really lost touch with the school. I came back and coached JV basketball with Mr. Tower for a few years after graduation and I am a regular at Strawberry Night and some other functions on occasion (my wife can’t believe how often my picture is in the Bulletin!). As I said, I have kept in close contact with many people both in my class and others. We’ve also been able to make it to several football and basketball games throughout the years, including the recent football defeat of Belmont Hill for the first time since the members of the Class of 1988 were sophomores!

Pieces of Reunion that I’m most excited about…
I’m excited mostly for the actual reunion and getting to see some of my old classmates with whom I’ve lost touch with over the years. Many people are coming from out of town, so I want to make it an event that people will go out of their way to attend and enjoy. I hope we can make that possible. I know whatever we do, we’ll have a few laughs (and a few cocktails)…just like old times. I hope to see you all at Strawberry Night and at our 20th Reunion!
